AutoCAD (Week 1 - 5)

Plan View Drawings

I learnt how to use a variety of drawing and modifying tools in AutoCAD to produce accurate and comprehensive floor designs. I gained a strong understanding of how to convert spatial concepts into technical drawings that clearly convey design intentions as a result of this process.

Additionally, I became more confident in my ability to arrange furniture layouts, precisely alter scale and measurements, and create professional presentation drawings with layers and annotations so that designers could see the proposed layout.

SketchUp (Week 7-12)

3D Rendering of HDB Furniture Layout

I gained a better understanding of spatial relationships and proportions by learning how to convert 2D floor plans into detailed 3D elevation models in SketchUp. I gained a stronger understanding of form, size, and composition in interior spaces as a result of this exercise.

In order to create realistic visualisations that convey a design's tone and ambiance, I also learnt how to apply materials, textures, and lighting. This made it easier for me to communicate my thoughts to others in a clear and professional approach by bridging the gap between technical drawings and conceptual visualisation.
